Friday 27th January. An event which urges all of us to learn lessons from the Holocaust and subsequent atrocities and genocides worldwide. We ask God to help us to stand up for what we know to be right, and give us the courage to speak out against all that harms our people and our world. Amen

The Rosemary Foundation is the Mayor’s Charity for Petersfield this year. There will be a Quiz Night in the Festival Hall on Friday 24th February 7:30 pm in order to raise funds for the Charity. The event will be for teams of 6 people (at £10 per person), there will be a range of questions, a ploughman’s supper will be provided and a wine/beer bar available. Please contact Petersfield Town Hall to book a table or complete a form which is available from the parish office.

Messy Christmas is on Tuesday 20th December 3.30pm - 5.45pm at the Petersfield Methodist Church – lots of activities and fun for children. We also need more help; in the kitchen and with Craft Activities- for more information contact Helen Mason on 01730 260344/ 07886 289619.

Christmas Floral Demonstration in St Laurence Hall on Friday 16th December at 2pm. Followed by Tea & Christmas Cake, admission £3 in aid of Rosemary Foundation.

The PACT Christmas lunch takes place at the URC on Christmas Day. Donations of wine, fruit juices, mince pies and chocolates etc would be very welcome. Help is also needed; as a host or hostess on a table, drivers to pick up and return guests and deliver meals to those unable to attend. There are some places left for guests so if you, or anyone you know of any age would like to attend please let us know. Attendance is not restricted to
members of PACT churches.

Children's Christmas Craft event - Sunday 11th Dec (after the 10.45am mass) in St. Laurence's Hall, from 12.00pm to 2.00pm. There will be sandwiches, cake and drinks for the children as they listen to the true story of
Christmas, as well as mince pies and mulled wine for the adults! The children will then be able participate in 8 different craft activities, ending with Christmas carols and prayers. Parish Memorial Service for the Faithful Departed will be held on 15th November. During the Service names of parishioners who have died in the last two years will be read out. If you will be coming to the Service and would like the names of family or good friends who have died in the last two years to be read, please add them to the list in the sacristy.

Safeguarding Awareness Sessions –The next courses to run in the Diocese are on 7th & 9th Nov at Winchester. Please see the poster and contact the office to book a place and coordinate lifts. Please be aware that anybody who has not completed a Diocesan training course by 31st December 2011 will not be able to continue in their Ministry until this has been done. A Parish Pastoral Forum will be held in the Hall on Tuesday 8th November 7:30-9:00 pm. The topic will be “Sunday Mass Attendance”. This will be an opportunity to listen to one another’s experience and thoughts on the topic and help the Parish Pastoral Council to decide what can help.
