Christian Aid
The Petersfield Area Christian Aid committee is an informal group that comes under the auspices of PACT. The purpose of the group is to collect funds for Christian Aid. The Group is made up of members from all the churches in the Petersfield area. However, it does not cover Liss which has a separate organisation.
The principal activity of the group is to organise the annual house-to-house collection. Each church is allocated a number of roads from which to make the collection. The group also organises a small number of other activities such as the “Simple Lunch” that is held in St. Laurence’s church hall each spring.

The group holds two or three informal meetings a year. The main job of the church representative is to organise the house-to-house collection. This entails finding collectors, distributing materials (envelopes, ID, bags, etc.), collecting up bags after the collection, and counting out and banking the money.
