Support activities The Churches welcome their congregations each week with bright displays of shining brass, clean linen and glorious flowers (pictured, below right). This would not be possible without the work of unseen helpers who conduct these tasks during the week. Both churches seek new volunteers at all times. | | Brass Cleaning The brass candlesticks, doorknobs and plaques in the church are cleaned almost every week on a six week rota. A small team works in pairs at a time and on a day of their choosing, but preferably towards the end of the week, so that the brass sparkles on Sundays. There is polish provided in the sacristy. New volunteers, male or female, young or old, would be very welcome to come and join the polishers. Contact Frances Nickell Email Phone 231 599 | | Flower arranging What is your favourite flower? Lily, rose, daisy? When you arrange flowers in church you choose the flowers and colours to work with. During the year each person works on their own. There are no flowers in Church during Advent and Lent but everyone on the rota who can helps with the decorations for Christmas and Easter. Could you join the team? At present we only have five people on the rota. All reasonable expenses are covered by the parish and equipment such as pedestals, oasis foam and vases are available for use.
