The Government’s new Equality legislation has presented significant challenges for Catholic Adoption agencies. In order to safeguard its wide range of services and to comply with the legislation the Catholic Children’s Society has been working under the new name of Cabrini Children’s Society since 1st Jan 2009. From this date any monies collected are placed in a “communities fund” which goes towards supporting non-adoption related services.
This work includes: support and services through neighbourhood projects, 'home-for-life’ and day centres for adults with learning disabilities, counselling and training in Catholic schools and supports people to access record and facilitate reunions with their birth families.
